The Legal Office provides legal support to the University on matters affecting the University, including commercial, employment, personal data, litigation, intellectual property rights and governance issues. The Legal Office is comprised of a team of professionals led by the Head of Legal.
MISSION
The Legal Office strives to serve the interests of the University by providing quality counsel and support to ensure compliance with legal requirements and reduce exposure to legal risks.
The Legal Office does not provide advice on personal matters of members of the University or matters of individual interests which do not relate to or concern the University.
University Marks
University’s Titles, Names and Logos, and their derivatives (collectively, “HKUST Marks”) are valuable assets of the University attached to which are the University’s high quality and standards as an international research university. Use of the HKUST Marks shall comply with the Policy and Guidelines on the Use of the University’s Titles, Names and Logos (please click below):

Colleagues from internal units who would like to seek assistance from the Legal Office please first obtain approval from relevant unit heads and complete the Legal Service Request Form.
